Maggi Technology

Maggi Technology has built woodworking machinery in Tuscany since 1963. This category covers their full lineup of line boring machines and radial arm saws, including both manual and automated options. Five manual line borers span 21 to 46 spindles on the 32mm European system. Four radial arm saw models, produced since 1973, scale from a compact shop saw up to a 7.5 HP heavy-duty cutter built for beams and thick stock.

Line Boring Machines: Manual and Automated

Maggi’s line borers drill on the 32mm European cabinet system, so shelf pins, drawer slides, and hinge plates from any major hardware supplier land at the same centers without custom layout. Five manual configurations cover different panel widths: the System 21 Prestige, System 23, System 29, and System 35 step up in spindle count as panels get wider. The System 46 doubles the capacity with two parallel 23-spindle heads, built for wardrobe sides and bookcase carcasses where covering the full span in one pass matters.

The System 21 Technology adds PLC-controlled, fully electric operation to the 21-spindle platform. Foot-actuated pneumatic clamps and an automated drill cycle replace manual setup, making it the right step for shops that want programmable, repeatable boring without committing to a full CNC machining center.

The four single-head manual models (System 21 Prestige, 23, 29, and 35) all include digital readout positioning, pneumatic tilt from 0 to 90 degrees for horizontal and vertical drilling, and patented quick-release material clamps.

Radial Arm Saws: Four Models

Maggi builds all four saw models on heavy cast-iron frames with eight-bearing saw carriages. Each step up adds either more crosscut reach or more cutting power.

The Junior 640CE (21.5-inch crosscut) and Big 800CE (27.75-inch crosscut) both run 4 HP motors with 16-inch blades. Both are available in single-phase, making them straightforward to wire in smaller shops. The Best 960CE stays at 4 HP but extends crosscut capacity to 33.4 inches, covering wide panels the smaller saws can’t reach.

The Best 960S is a different machine. A 7.5 HP motor drives a 20-inch blade and reaches a max cutting height of nearly 8 inches (enough for beams, stair stringers, and thick glue-ups that would stop a smaller saw cold). The 960S also allows bevel cuts at any intermediate angle between 0 and 45 degrees, rather than just the fixed 45-degree stop on the other models.

Steff Power Feeders

Maggi manufactures the Steff line of power feeders under their own brand name, sold separately. If you’re adding a Maggi radial arm saw or need a feeder for a shaper or moulder, a Steff is worth pricing at the same time.
