Laguna Drill Presses

The Laguna DP:20 runs a 1.5HP PWM motor on 110V with electronic variable speed from 60 to 3,600 RPM and a touch-screen LCD control panel. Bench and floor models are both available. The floor model adds auto-start quill activation, five programmable speed and depth settings, crosshair lasers, and a 15-by-22-inch cast iron table that tilts 90 degrees and rotates 360 degrees. Dake TB-16 bench and floor models offer traditional belt-drive 1/2HP capacity for shops that prefer a fixed-speed design.

Laguna DP:20 Drill Presses

The Laguna DP:20 uses a DC brushed PWM motor that runs from 60 to 3,600 RPM on a standard 110V circuit. Speed is continuously variable, which matters when drilling different materials: the same 1.5HP delivers consistent torque at low RPM in dense hardwood and at high RPM in thinner sheet goods. Both the DP:20 bench model and DP:20 floor model include the touch-screen LCD smart panel with digital readout.

The floor model goes further. Its Auto-Start function activates the drill press when the quill is lowered and stops it when raised, keeping both hands on the workpiece for positioning. A chuck key sensor locks out Auto-Start during bit changes. Five programmable speed and depth settings save repeatable setups. The 15-by-22-inch cast iron table tilts 90 degrees in either direction and rotates 360 degrees, with T-slots and 10 clamping holes for fixturing difficult stock. Crosshair lasers and a built-in 5W LED work light handle material positioning.

Dake Drill Presses

The Dake TB-16 bench models and Dake floor model are traditional belt-drive machines with 5/8-inch drill capacity and 1/2HP motors. For shops that want a proven mechanical design with straightforward maintenance rather than electronic controls, the Dake lineup covers that need.

Frequently Asked Questions

What drill presses does Laguna make?
Laguna makes the DP:20 in bench and floor configurations. Both run a 1.5HP PWM motor with variable speed from 60 to 3,600 RPM on 110V and include a touch-screen LCD panel. The floor model adds auto-start quill activation, five programmable settings, and a large cast iron table that tilts and rotates.

What is the difference between the Laguna DP:20 bench and floor models?
Both share the same PWM motor and touch-screen control. The floor model adds auto-start with quill activation, five programmable speed and depth settings, crosshair lasers, and a 15-by-22-inch table that tilts 90 degrees and rotates 360 degrees.
