Choosing the Right Bandit Edgebander
The Bandit 3/2 is the dedicated shop edgebander: five-element glue heating with auto temperature control, dual pressure rollers, automatic belt feed, and a 79-inch work table. It handles panels from 0.47 to 1.77 inches thick and accepts edge coils up to 31.5 inches in diameter. For a cabinet shop moving off handheld or manual edgebanding, this is the machine that does it in a reliable automatic footprint.
The Bandit 4 is a 12HP three-phase production machine that processes panels at 49 to 75 ft/min (15 to 23 m/min). Panels from 3/8 to 2-3/8 inches (10 to 60mm) thick pass through automatically; edge tape from 1/64 to 1/8 inch (0.4 to 3mm) is supported. A 50-amp three-phase circuit is required. This is the right scale for furniture manufacturers and high-volume cabinet shops where the edgebander runs most of the shift.
The Bandit 5 scales to 22HP on a 90-amp three-phase circuit. Feed speed matches the Bandit 4, and the higher motor power handles wider panels and more demanding production volumes. Five dust collection ports (versus three on the Bandit 4) reflect the increased throughput.
