Laguna’s SmartShop fiber laser series cuts steel, aluminum, copper, stainless, and non-ferrous metals that CO2 lasers can’t handle efficiently. The SmartShop Laser CBX, DLP, and FC cover a range of power and table configurations. The DLP runs from 3KW to 30KW with a BOCI laser cutting head, Yaskawa servo motors on all axes, and tube cutting for pipe and structural sections. All models include closed-loop industrial water chillers and precision-ground mechanical components.

Fiber Laser vs CO2: Choosing the Right Technology
Fiber lasers cut metals that CO2 machines can’t handle efficiently. Where a CO2 laser excels on wood, acrylic, and non-metals, fiber laser technology is optimized for steel, aluminum, stainless, copper, brass, and other conductive or reflective metals. The 1064nm fiber wavelength is absorbed efficiently by metal surfaces; the 10.6-micron CO2 wavelength largely reflects off bare metal.
The SmartShop Laser DLP runs from 3KW to 30KW with a BOCI laser cutting head, Yaskawa servo motors on all axes, and German Atlanta gearwheel and rack drives. A 3-meter tube cutting attachment is standard; 6-meter tube cutting is optional for pipe and structural section work. A TFLW closed-loop water chiller handles thermal management.
