Laguna SmartShop® FC-E Fiber Laser Overview
A first fiber laser has to fit the shop it goes into, both the floor space and the budget. The FC-E is Laguna’s entry into production fiber cutting: a fully enclosed cabinet with a motorized slide-out table and automatic doors, built on a heat-treated steel frame with a BOCI closed-loop cutting head. Enclosed Slide-Out Table
The FC-E runs a single work table that moves in and out on an industrial electric gear motor, behind electro-pneumatic doors that open and close automatically. The full enclosure keeps the operator clear of the beam while the slide-out table makes loading and unloading easy, which is a practical setup for a shop adding its first laser without a lot of floor space. Tables are available in 4×4 and 5×10.
Fiber Power and Cutting Head
The FC-E runs optical power up to 12kW, so you can size it to the metal and thickness you cut most. The BOCI closed-loop cutting head feeds real-time diagnostics back to the control software, with automatic height control, automatic edge finding, and software-controlled focal adjustment to keep cuts accurate from sheet to sheet. Several optical supplies are available, and the power supply is Bluetooth capable.
Drive, Cooling, and Connectivity
Yaskawa servos drive the axes through a helical rack-and-pinion system on a heat-treated, stress-relieved steel frame, and a central oiling system keeps the linear bearings lubricated on every axis. An industrial chiller cools the laser source and optics, the control cabinet is climate controlled, and the machine is Wi-Fi capable. It handles nesting and batch production out of the box.
Support and Maintenance
The FC-E comes standard with a 2-year warranty, and comprehensive Laguna Care maintenance packages are available to keep it in production.
