Laguna Shapers

Laguna makes three shapers covering entry-level to production use. The Compact is a 4-speed machine for standard profiling on a single-phase circuit. The Pro Shaper scales to 5 or 7.5HP with a large cast table predrilled for power feeders, digital readout, and precision micro-adjust fence. The S|45T adds a tilting spindle (45 degrees backward, 10 degrees forward) and a sliding tenoning table, suited to shops that shape angled profiles or run a tilted-spindle setup for production work.

Three Shapers for Three Different Shops

The Compact Shaper handles standard profile work on four speeds: 4000, 6000, 8000, and 10,000 RPM. A flat poly-groove belt transfers power with less vibration than a V-belt at this price range, and a simple handle pull changes speeds without disassembly. It accepts 1-1/4-inch spindles and includes forward and reverse rotation. For a cabinet or trim shop running standard profiles daily, it’s a practical fit.

The Pro Shaper is the production-floor option, available in a 5HP single-phase and a 7.5HP three-phase configuration. The 31-by-39-inch table is predrilled for power feeders. Three speeds (5000, 7000, and 10,000 RPM) run through a quick-change poly-groove belt. A digital readout handles spindle height, a micro-adjust fence controls position, and a reversing switch is standard. Router collets (1/4-inch and 1/2-inch) are included.

The S|45T is the tilting-spindle option. The spindle tilts 45 degrees backward and 10 degrees forward, keeping the cutting action close to the table surface rather than shaping from the top. That setup makes running a power feeder easier and the geometry more stable for angled profiles. The sliding tenoning table has a 19-inch stroke in each direction. Five speeds run from 3000 to 10,000 RPM. The standard 1-1/4-inch spindle is interchangeable, and router collets are available for shops that want one machine to cover both shaper and large-bit router work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What shapers does Laguna make?
Laguna makes three shapers: the Compact 4-speed, the Pro Shaper (5HP single-phase or 7.5HP three-phase), and the S|45T tilting-spindle shaper. All accept 1-1/4-inch spindles, and all support router collets.

What is the difference between the Laguna Pro Shaper and S|45T?
The Pro Shaper is a non-tilting production machine with a 31-by-39-inch table, digital spindle height readout, and three speeds for high-volume profile work. The S|45T has a tilting spindle (45 degrees backward, 10 degrees forward), a sliding tenoning table with 19-inch stroke, and five speeds for angled profiles and tilted-spindle applications.
