The SmartShop line covers Laguna’s production CNC router range, from the 5.5HP SmartShop M to the 3,000 IPM SmartShop 3 Excel with FANUC Oi-MF control. Between them sit the SmartShop 2 Pro and 2 Elite at 12HP, Auto Loader configurations for automated sheet feeding, the 5-Axis for compound machining, the 6D for all-sides panel drilling, and the Composite Fabricator 16 and 20 for large-format aluminum composite panel work. Choosing Your SmartShop CNC Router
The SmartShop M is the entry point: 5.5HP Hiteco spindle, Syntec industrial control, and table options from 4’x4′ to 5’x10′. It suits shops routing their first production hours on a CNC platform without committing to a full production machine. Up from there, the SmartShop 2 Pro doubles the spindle to 12HP and moves rapid travel to 1,800 IPM. The SmartShop 2 Elite runs the same 12HP HSD spindle with FANUC servo control for tighter positional consistency across long production runs. Both are available with an Auto Loader for automated sheet feeding and reduced material handling between cycles.
The SmartShop 3 Excel is the production benchmark: FANUC Oi-MF control, dual-support direct-drive helical rack, a 12-position tool changer, and 3,000 IPM rapid travel. It’s built for shops where cycle time per part is the bottleneck. An Auto Loader Excel configuration adds fully automated sheet-to-sheet feeding.
Three machines handle specialized applications. The SmartShop 5-Axis runs a 9HP two-axis articulating HSD spindle under FANUC 31i-B5 control, with Z-clearance from 20″ to 36″ for sculptural work, curved surfaces, and compound-angle machining that three-axis machines can’t reach. The SmartShop 6D is a panel processing machine with dual spindles and multiple drill banks, built to handle all six sides of a panel in one setup for cabinet and furniture production. The Composite Fabricator 16 (5’x16′) and Composite Fabricator 20 (6’x20′) are purpose-built for aluminum composite panel cutting at production volume, with a pressure shoe design that holds depth accuracy on panels that aren’t perfectly flat.
