Steff Power Feeders

Steff power feeders, made by Maggi Technology in Italy, are automatic stock feeders for shapers, router tables, planers, and jointers. The line runs from the compact 2032 (3-roll, 4-speed, available in single or three-phase) through 4-roll and 6-roll fixed-speed models, up to the Variosteff and Supersonic series with continuously variable speed control. All models use 50-shore natural rubber rollers, sintered case-hardened gears, and calibrated spring supports to maintain consistent roller-to-stock contact.

Choosing the Right Roll Count

Roll count determines how much of the stock stays in contact with the feeder at once. Three-roll models handle standard cabinet and millwork applications well. Four-roll models give a longer contact area for better control on longer stock, or any time feed consistency matters more than footprint. The 2068 is the six-roll option — useful on shapers processing long stiles or rails where a shorter feeder might let the workpiece wander.

The 2038CI swaps the standard rollers for belts, making it the right choice for thin, fragile, or surface-sensitive material that rubber rollers might mark.

Fixed Speed vs. Variable Speed

The 2000 series models come in 4-speed or 8-speed configurations, with feed rate set by gear selection. The 8-speed models give more options for matching feed rate to material and cutter type, which matters more as you move from rough passes to finish work.

The Variosteff models replace the gear selector with a continuously variable dial (3-18 m/min), letting the operator fine-tune feed rate without stopping. The Supersonic series adds a SMART electronic controller and the patented VARIOPOWER system, which maintains consistent grip pressure across the full speed range — useful at both the slow end for finish routing and the fast end for high-production runs up to 82 FPM.

Motor and Power

Most fixed-speed models are available in single-phase (0.52 kW) or three-phase (0.75 kW). Variable-speed models are three-phase only. All models include a support stand. Polyurethane rollers are available as an alternative to the standard natural rubber on all models.
