Laguna SmartShop® FC-S Fiber Laser Overview
For a fabrication shop, the bottleneck is rarely the cut itself, it’s the handling around it. The FC-S is built to keep the laser working: a full enclosure and material-exchange table let the operator load and unload safely while the machine keeps cutting, and an ultra-rigid, heat-treated frame holds accuracy at speed. Shuttle Table for Continuous Production
The FC-S runs a material exchange (shuttle) table inside a full enclosure. One table cuts while the other is loaded and unloaded, which cuts idle time on long production runs and keeps the operator clear of the cutting area. Automated zone-controlled fume extraction pulls smoke only from the area being cut, so extraction stays efficient instead of venting the whole cabinet.
Fiber Power Options
Choose an optical power supply to match your work: 3kW, 6kW, 12kW, 20kW, or 30kW. As a rule, higher power cuts thicker material and runs faster on thin stock, and the 3kW and larger supplies add back-reflection protection for highly reflective metals like copper, brass, and nickel. Power output holds within ±1% for repeatable results across a shift.
BOCI Cutting Head and Yaskawa Drive
The BOCI closed-loop cutting head feeds real-time data back to the controller, with built-in sensors for lens-contamination and collision detection that catch problems before they scrap parts. Yaskawa servos drive every axis through a rack-and-pinion system, with automated height control and edge finding for accurate starts. The FC-S rapids at 1,200 in/min, positions to 0.02mm, and holds a minimum line width of 0.1mm.
Built for the Shop Floor
A heat-treated, stress-relieved steel frame gives the machine a stable platform for accurate, high-speed cutting. A programmable central oiling system keeps the linear bearings lubricated, and the electrical cabinet is climate controlled to protect the electronics in a working shop. The FC-S ships with a 2-year warranty, on-site commissioning and training, and lifetime technical support, with Laguna Care maintenance packages available.
