Laguna SmartShop® FC-H Fiber Laser Overview
Open fiber lasers are fast to load and easy to reach into, but the exposed beam is a safety concern. The FC-H answers that with an enclosed gantry and a protective hood around the laser head, so a shop keeps open-table workflow while gaining the operator protection of a CDRH-compliant machine. It is the compact, safety-focused option in Laguna’s fiber laser line. Open Access with Enclosed-Gantry Safety
Rather than wrap the whole machine in a cabinet, the FC-H encloses the gantry and hoods the cutting head, which keeps the laser shielded while leaving the 5×10 table open and easy to load. The design is CDRH compliant, and blow-suction fume extraction uses positive airflow to pull smoke and fine particulate away from the cut more effectively than suction alone.
BOCI Cutting Head and Power
The FC-H carries optical power up to 6kW and a BOCI intelligent cutting head with built-in diagnostics. Automatic height control, automatic edge finding, and software-controlled focal adjustment keep the cut accurate from part to part, and an industrial chiller cools the laser source and optics for steady output through a shift.
Drive and Build
Yaskawa servos drive the axes through a rack-and-pinion system on a heat-treated, stress-relieved frame, with a programmable central oiling system keeping the bearings lubricated. The machine is Wi-Fi capable, the optical power supply is Bluetooth capable, and it handles nesting and batch production. Comprehensive Laguna Care maintenance packages are available.
