The Tersa head is the top choice for many woodworkers as it is the Swiss Army Knife of cutter-heads. Allowing you to switch between (4) different types of double sided knives within minutes. Choose between:

*M+ Tersa Planer Knives are an HSS knife with a custom cutting angle to the blade that makes the knives more durable. Suitable for smaller runs of hardwoods like maple or oak.

**High Speed Steel (HSS) Tersa Planer Knives are the most widely used of the four, and the best choice for general woodworking on softwoods like fir, pine, and cedar.

***Tersa Carbide planer knives are the perfect match for daily and extended use with ​all hardwoods, exotic woods and material with glue lines. Although the carbide steel is more brittle than high speed steel, if used on clean wood, it typically lasts 8-10 times as long.

****Chrome Steel Tersa Planer Knives are offered at a lower price than HSS and M+. Intended for working with soft woods and less likely to chip if used on dirty wood. A set of chrome blades can be used to clean the surface of dirty wood, then changed over quickly for HSS, M+ or carbide blades.
