Shaker vs. Cartridge: Choosing the Right Coima System
The SHK series uses mechanical shaker cleaning with anti-static polyester sleeve filters. Models start at the SHK-1 (5HP, 3,200 CFM), with waste discharged into standard plastic bags. It’s a straightforward, low-maintenance option for shops that process consistent wood dust from a defined number of machines.
The enclosed F, FB, and FC series use pulse-jet cleaning. In the 380 and larger variants, that means cartridge filtration at high surface area: the F380 packs 1,355 ft² of filter area into a unit with a 142″ × 46″ floor footprint. FB models add a briquetting hopper that compresses collected waste into dense bricks for easy disposal or biomass fuel use. FC models use a screw conveyor system instead.
The FI series offers fully enclosed construction with noise-attenuated fan compartments, making it a good fit for facilities where ambient noise levels or spark risk are a concern. All FI units include integral water-based fire suppression as standard, along with spark detection capability.
