Coima USA CTA Biomass Boiler

Coima USA CTA Biomass Boiler

Biomass boiler on Coima’s horizontal CTA platform: wet-walled combustion chamber lined with 65% alumina refractory brick running 800 to 1200°C (about 1,470 to 2,190°F), immersed-tube heat exchanger, and a mechanical screw-conveyor burner with gearmotor flow adjustment.

Coima USA CTA Biomass Boiler

The CTA burns biomass on a horizontal platform built for the abuse: steel sheet construction with tensile bars to stand up to thermal stress and high pressure. It is the base of a three-boiler family; Coima builds the same platform with a moving grate (CTA GM) and with dual grates (CTA FEM), while the CTA itself runs a mechanical screw-fed burner.

A Chamber Built to Hold Heat

The combustion chamber is wet-walled and large in volume, lined throughout with high-quality refractory brick rich in alumina (65%). That lining lets the chamber run between 800 and 1200°C (about 1,470 to 2,190°F), the temperature range Coima cites for optimized combustion. Side entrances distribute the combustion air, and an openable door takes manual loading of large fuel and gives access for periodic grate cleaning.

The Screw-Fed Burner

Fuel arrives by screw conveyor, and a gearmotor adjusts the flow. Mechanical, direct, and adjustable at the drive.

Heat Into Water

The smoke circuits run through a horizontal heat exchanger of steel tubes immersed in water, with a geometry Coima credits for the best thermal exchange and performance.
