Evans Midwest CL 1400/1700 SBS Countertop Laminating System
The “SBS” in this system is the heart of it: two Side-By-Side glue spreaders that coat the core and the high-pressure laminate at the same time. Applying adhesive to both surfaces at once is how Evans Midwest engineers this line for full glue transfer, which is what high-volume countertop production needs. It is built in the USA for water-based PVA.
Two Spreaders, Core and Laminate at Once
A dedicated core spreader and a dedicated HPL spreader run side by side. Each carries its own large-diameter spreading rollers, cast-iron support columns, direct-drive application rollers, and a dual-diaphragm glue feeding pump, with cleaning systems and caster kits for maintenance. Gluing both surfaces on the same pass is what drives the transfer efficiency.
Dried and Controlled
Chain-driven powered roller conveyors move the work through two infrared drying tunnels, one for the core and one for the HPL. A free-standing console electrical enclosure with push-button controls and a digital display runs the line at variable speed.
Sized and Optioned to the Shop
The CL 1400/1700 SBS comes in 4′ and 5′ widths. Options include powered laminate cleaners, an HPL location unit, automatic adhesive-level sensing, laminating index systems, and pinch-roll presses.
