WinStar Bottom Helical Head Jointer/Planer with Carpet Bed (15.5″ X 4.5″ Capacity)

This is a WinStar model MBZ-524 which is a 400 x 120 mm Automatic Surface Jointer/Planer. It looks to have a roughly 15.5″ width and 4.5″ thickness capacity when we measured it. With a max. working depth 5 mm (0.19″). The cutterhead speed is 5,600 RPM and the 2.2 kW (3 HP) feed motor will allow speeds of 6 – 12 MPM (20 – 39 FPM). The MBZ-524 is equipped with a diagonal 120 mm (4.72″)  Helical Cutterhead (single/bottom), powered by a 4.5 kW (6 HP) Motor. It uses common 15 X 15 X 2.5 mm inserts.  This machine does have an upper carpet bed. The elevation motor is .55 kW (3/4 HP). How is this different from a planer? The bottom infeed table adjusts down to the bottom outfeed table to set height/material removed. It is then fed by a carpet bed.
