(Additional Information and Specifications Below)

The Side Loading Automated Clamp Carrier is a standard model in our Automated Clamp Carrier line. The system includes all the productivity and design features of our Automated Clamp Carrier. However, it is equipped with a side loading infeed table and application system. This design is especially effective when edge gluing or laminating long material. Productivity levels are higher than the standard Automated Clamp Carrier because panels are being laid up on the infeed table at the same time that the previous panel is being tightened and flattened. In addition, large panels are pushed out of the machine onto a table or conveyor. This eliminates heavy lifting.

Production is based on cycle time and panel size. Assuming that each section is curing 1 panels 24″x 96″ (60 cm x 244 cm) and assuming a cycle time of 60 seconds, production per shift equals:

One Panel:
=16 ft2 (1.49M2)

One Section:
=16 ft2 (1.49M2)

One Cycle:
=60 seconds
=60 cycles/hour
=480 cycles/shift

Production output:
=16 ft2 x 480 cycles or 7680 ft2/shift
=1.49 M2 x 480 cycles or 715 M2/shift

Infeed Table with Hydraulic Push Bar

The Side Loader comes complete with an Infeed table (pictured above and left) that allows the operators to load the next batch of material, while the previous one is being tightened and flattened by the Tightener. Once the batch of material is loaded, and the machine has cycled through its sequence and finished loosening all of the clamps, starting the next cycle will cause the Hydraulic Push Bar to move the new batch of material into the machine, which will push cured material out of the machine. This saves the operators from needing to lift and unload long and heavy material.

Automated Tightener / Flattener System

The Taylor Automated Front End is designed to double the operators production. Utilizing PLC software and sensors, the Tightener / Flattener will index across the series of clamps, and automatically engage, flatten, and tighten the clamps while the operator is organizing the next batch of material on the Infeed of the Side Loader. The software also has a “Sequencing Program” that allows you to set a distinct path for the Tightener setting an order of clamps to tighten that makes the most sense for your products. For many of our Taylor Side Loader customers, the ability to sequence is a critical feature they need to have.

Motor Drive for Rotation of the Sections:

The motor drive rotates the Clamp Carrier from section to section. It is offered with a pneumatic or hydraulic (shown) motor. The Motor Drive worm gear reducer insures controlled indexing from section to section, even when rotating an unbalanced load. The Motor Drive is controlled by a Joystick, on the Front Rest of the machine, and can rotate forward or reverse. The Motor Drive speeds rotation of the machine with precise control and minimizes operator fatigue.

High End, American Made Hydraulic System

The Clamp Carrier hydraulic system incorporates a proportional valve controlled by the programmable controller. By using a series of sensors and inputs, the controller monitors and measures the traverse speed of the Clamp Tightener carriage, the rotational speed of the Clamp Tightener, and the speed of the Clamp Carrier rotation. These measurements are taken on every cycle during normal operation and speeds are automatically adjusted up or down without operator or maintenance intervention. This upgrade take a huge step towards a maintenance free machine
