Coima USA CYC Cyclone Dust Separator
The CYC removes dust with centrifugal force instead of filter media. Air enters the separator on a spiral path, and particles with more inertia than the surrounding gas are thrown against the outer cylinder wall, where they slide down the cone into a collection hopper. The sections below cover what that means in daily operation, the capacity range, and the discharge options.
Separation Without Filter Media
Because the CYC separates mechanically, there is no cartridge or sleeve to clog or replace. The standard version handles medium and large particles. For fine-particle work, Coima builds a high-efficiency version in capacities up to 25,000 m³/h (about 14,700 CFM).
Captured powder collects at the bottom of the cone, where it can be recovered for further treatment.
Capacity and Configuration
The body is galvanized steel. Models span 1,000 to 50,000 m³/h of air capacity (about 590 to 29,400 CFM). Discharge goes to bins or through a rotary valve, and the support legs can be customized to the installation.
